FLORENCE AND THE MACHINE'S DOG DAYS
Her debut single ‘Kiss With A Fist’ was an adrenaline fuelled indie club anthem inspired by dysfunctional relationships. Now her new single, the devastating ‘Dog Days’, is inspired by a sign art student Florence saw on Waterloo Bridge by contemporary artist Ugo Rondine.
Again released by superior independent label Moshi Moshi, and produced by the studio man of the moment James Ford (Artic Monkeys, Klaxons), this stunning end of night anthem shows that this young singer/songwriter is simply one of the most amazing talents in British music today. The meticulous artwork, created one evening in Sydenham Hill Forest, reflects the songs theme of transcendence, casting Florence as a feral creature being waited on by a macabre cast of woodland animals. 500 limited edition singles will also come with beautiful Alice & Burt designed pendants.
Already a remarkable artist with a growing cult following and with her debut album set for release in the spring of 2009, Florence Welch just keeps getting better and better. A deserved highlight at this summers Reading, Leeds, Glastonbury and Bestival festivals – be sure to catch Florence and The Machine on tour across the UK this October and November.
Florence performed Dog Days B side ‘You’ve Got The Love’ (originally recorded by The Source featuring Candi Staton) to an ecstatic crowd at this years Bestival.
