Ones to Watch: The Daisy Riots

Stumbling together with a youthful disregard for how to behave on stage, The Daisy Riots are a chance meeting between two suburban boys and a city dweller, and of course his 70’s drum kit. Gathering together a guitar and bass from many a willing friend it was left to Drew to take on additional noise duties (Guitar/Vocals) and Peter (Bass) joining Guy (Drums) to complete the band.
Many a bloodied instrument and tired smiles have led to The Daisy Riots debut single, ‘Do You Feel Alone?’ (Released July 28th). Recorded in Magnetic North studios with Rick MacNamara of Embrace, the song is three heartfelt minutes of youthful aggressive pop. Essential.
Although the essence of the band is found in their frenzied live show The Daisy Riots still insist that pop melodies still matter.
“The idea was to make as much noise as possible, throw in the best possible hook…..if we manage to do that, it’s always a good days work..”
