Semifinalists announce UK dates (news / gigs)

Ahead of the release of their marvellous new album – “2” – on V2/Cooperative Music next month, SEMIFINALISTS will be keeping themselves very busy on the live front, unveiling their ace new tunes over numerous live performances in London and and further afield. The party begins at White Heat at Madame Jojo’s tonight and continues throughout the summer… New shows in June have just been added in London, Glasgow, Leeds and York and the guys will be appearing at both the Wireless and Secret Garden Party festivals in July… upcoming live dates below:

Over the course of their new album the ambition of the band is clear. By mixing sounds of 80’s new wave pop, funk, and disco, as well as dreamy electronic shoegaze, Semifinalists have truly evolved their music. The new album sparkles with sonic and melodic invention, taking the best elements of 80s pop, whilst reshaping them ingeniously and adding some serious dance-floor nous, to produce a modern pop classic, surely destined to the one of the year’s summer soundtracks.
