The Lionheart Brothers - ‘Bring It Down’ (single review)
When I was five years old I had a soft toy lion called Captain Lionheart (he was a pilot, y’see). Captain Lionheart was lovely; cuddly, fuzzy, and essentially my mother’s method of shutting me up on a flight to Portugal. Similarly, The Lionheart Brothers are quite simply lovely.
‘Bring It Down’, the third single from their UK debut ‘Dizzy Kiss’, integrates soft swirling guitars, dreamy vocals and what their myspace page describes as “sizzling drums.” All in all, as delightful for the ears as Captain Lionheart was to hug, the Norwegian quintet make lo-fi psychedelic pop to soundtrack hazy summer days or put a smile on your face when the weather outside is more Norway than it is Portugal.
