Bring me the Horizon @ Carling Academy2 Bristol 25-11-07 (live review)

Kerrrang famous, down to earth, Sheffield Death metal five piece embark on their follow up tour since that infamous 'peeing on a fan incident' at Nottingham 'Rock City' earlier this year.

True that didn't show the band and Oli Sykes in particular in a good light, but in saying that I casually bumped into him by the merch stand and he totally didn't mind me asking for a sneeky pic with him, just appeared flattered and excited about the show.

Support band Architects clearly showing much love for BMTH screaming “give it up for Horizon” through much of their set, this only intensified the crowd getting them totally pumped for the main course. Then hit the five minute masterpiece that was Matt Nicholls taking to the drums by storm, in a solo pre- performance of its own, utterly amazing beats that the trembles ran through the floor and vibrations blasted through the speakers. To be honest I was like eeeeeeeek when the security man told me that I would have to fight my way through the mosh pit and rowdy crowd to get to the photo pit, gulp came to mind!

Bring me the Horizon hit the stage dam hard in a full on blazing mosh metal riot, girls screaming out for front-man Mr Oli Sykes. The teen’s hearts beated faster as he took a massive lunge into the crowd. All I could hear afterwards were girls claims to fame “oh my god I grabbed his crotch'.

By far the best songs were the blasts into ' Black and Blue', 'Liquor and Love Lost', and ' I used to make out with (medusa'), was full metal death shriek at its best!

Oli oozed such stage presence and effortless charisma. Probably why throughout the night every other guy there was a walking replica of Oli... which I blatantly wasn't complaining about.

This was followed by a cover of a 'Slipknot' song which beckoned the ' Wall of Death' ... woah! And I’ll let you imagine the rest. Though there were no casualties ... but there were bruised egos when rude and cocky boys tipped water over the crowd for kicks, much to the displease of on the pull, glammed up scene girls, running mascara, black rimmed eyes, and fake eyelashes falling to the floor amongst the crowds of converse; not a good look!

These young whippersnappers put some fully established bands to shame, with shrill higher pitched hardcore vocals mixed with gritty backings, and add into the equation a few stage dives = what’s not to love?

You may thing what’s the hype? If there ' Count Your Blessing Album' ' isn't enough to convince you, then there live performances certainly should. Talented lads, end of!
